A’Chording to Tradition - A’Chording to Tradition is a instrumental trio featuring traditional music on the first Friday evening of each month at The Manna. Flo Hortz, on hammered dulcimer, Stan Hortz, on guitar, and Roger Mace, on fiddle and mandolin, have been performing together for over ten years. Their musical interests lie in a variety of traditional music including early American parlor and dance music, traditional fiddle tunes, waltzes, jigs and reels of Celtic influence, and a little Tin Pan Alley and Ragtime.

Built in 1928, The Midland Theatre annually presents touring and local artists through its four performance series and other events. Movie classics return to The Midland’s big screen for holidays and during the summer. The Newark Midland Theatre Association is a local organization dedicated to building value in our community with the positive, shared experiences of the performing arts, both locally produced and nationally recognized, in the beautifully restored Midland Theatre.

Develop an appreciation for the rich local history of Licking County at The Works. The museum occupies the Scheidler Machine Works, which was built in 1861 to manufacture steam engines and line shaft sawmills. Its proactive and diverse displays included a renovated interurban car, an operating woodshop and print shop plus rotating exhibits.
Through its affiliation with the Smithsonian Institution and other national museums, The Works celebrates the diversity of industry, people and innovative thinking that has characterized the lifestyles and working environment of Licking County.
